Meetings and A Baptismal Date!

 Family and friends!

This week went so fast! We had so many things come up this week that made the week fly by.

☀️Highlights☀️

- Meetings all day on Tuesday. We had a Social Media meeting in the morning, Institute, MLC (Mission Leaders Conference), then we had a stake meeting that night. It was a crazy day!

- We got to have Zone Conference in person!! We had to split up the zone but it was still fun to see everyone in person! For one of the meetings, we were the only sisters therešŸ˜‚. That was interesting!

- We put one of our friends on a baptismal date!! That was super exciting! He has been taught before by missionaries and we've had a little bit of contact with him but then he texted us and said that he wants to get baptized! Woot woot!

🄤Spiritual Juices🄤

This week we while we were at MLC and I had an mind-blowing moment. We were talking about "becoming" and we read Ether 12:27.

"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."

After reading this, it just hit me hard that we don't overcome our trials just willy-nilly. We overcome them by taking advantage of the trials that come our way. There was something that my mom said to me when I was going through something really hard. She told me that I can either let this tear me down or help build me up. I have never realized how true this is. Every single hardship, trial, heartache is there for a reason, and every time we can either give up or look up and trust that He will help us rise above it. We can become who He sees we can become as we take on these challenges and strive to rise above them all.

I miss and love you all and hope you all have the best week!

More Guns and the War Chapters

 Family and Friends!!

Hey everyone!! Another week once again has come and gone! It was quite an exciting one here in Washington.

☀Highlights!!☀
- On Thursday we had 7 lessons!! It was awesome to have a super busy day and to be able to just teach pretty much all day. I was super dead by the end though so I slept like a rock! (Which, for those of you who know me that's actually not anything new...haha!)
- Story Time: One of our members, Mike, had us come over to share a message with a guy that we actually taught for a little bit but has been going through some rough stuff. At first, Mike asked us if we would be able to help clean guns and we told him no! So he said that they would start cleaning their guns after we shared a message. Well, we were a little late getting there and apparently they were too excited so they just started cleaning these really old guns that had been in storage for 50 years. So, we got there and Mike just told us to come around to the back and there they all were cleaning guns. They started talking all about where they came from and all the history behind them. While they were talking I was thinking of how this could tie back to the gospel and then BOOM it came to me! We had been reading about all the wars in the Book of Mormon and how the people were preparing and things so we shared some scriptures about that and it was pretty awesome!
- We got to teach Sunday School on Sunday and it was super awesome!!

🄤Spiritual Juices🄤
So this week, as you know, I read a lot in the war chapters of the Book of Mormon. Before my mission I feel like I have always read these and thought "Wow these are some pretty neat stories!" and I never really thought I could get a lot out of them. But boy was I wrong!!! Every single day we are fighting a battle. Each and everyone of us are trying to fight for our souls every single day of our mortal existence. It's a hard battle to fight! But here's the thing, we have been given things to be able to prepare us and arm us for these battles we face. Some of these things consist of prayer, the Book of Mormon, the Bible, our families, prophets, apostles, and so much more. If we really take these things seriously and look at how they can help us through these battles we will become a force to be reckoned with! We will be armed with power that will save our lives. The Lord is trying to save our lives, and if we choose to follow Him we will never regret it.

I love you all and hope you have the best week ever!! If you ever want to send a letter my way here's my address!

Meals and Squirrels

Friends and Fam!

Hey y'all! Another week has come and gone and I honestly don't know where the time goes haha! But here are some things that happened!

☀️Highlights☀️

- We went on another pretty hike on Monday up to Heather Lake! We got tired on the way up but it was pretty!

- We got 2 member meals this week! Yeah that never really happens when you're in YSAšŸ˜…

- We had a ton of lessons throughout the week which was fun.

- Sister Inskeep fed a squirrel from her hand and then tried to share a scripture but he ran away.

I read a talk this week called "Come What May and Love It" by Joseph B. Wirthlin. I love this talk and I encourage everyone to read it! I love this quote:

"The way we react to adversity can be a major factor in how happy and successful we can be in life."

This is so true. If we complain and mope around when tough times come of course you won't be happy! But if you learn to laugh, seek for the eternal, and trust in the Lord you will be able to find joy and happiness no matter what comes in your life!

I love and miss you all and hope y'all have the best week!

A Gun, A Car Chase and Stuff

 Family and friends!

Hello hello hello! It's Sister Twede coming to ya from good old Marysville, Washington! It's been a pretty good week.

☀️Highlights☀️

- We made 3 new friends this week! Two people are not in our area but one person we found just from calling people in our contacts. It was super awesome! He said he wants to read the bible so we are going to do a bible study.

- Tuesday was Sister Inskeep's birthday and we had a lesson with a member who rode up on his motorcycle and had a gun in his back pocket! Then at the end of the lesson he asked the other female member that came with us for her number! Haha, welcome to YSA!

- Later in the week we witnessed a car chase. It was pretty wild! The guy was weaving in and out of cars and the cop was on a motorcycle. The cop eventually stopped chasing him because it was too dangerous.

🄤Spiritual Juices🄤

I saw this scripture on a post that another missionary in my mission posted and it really hit me.

1 Peter 1:7

"That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:"

This really put my trials in perspective for me. The trials I have gone through in my life have made me into who I am today. I'm so grateful for the things I was able to learn from them. Yes, trials are hard but we should hold them close to our hearts and ask ourselves if we are going to let this tear us down or build us up. It's one or the other but I know if we let it build us we will become so much more than what we could ever imagine.

- We did a new missionary training for the new missionaries in our zone which was so fun!

I love you all and hope you have the best week! Feel free to shoot me an email about your life!

Another Day, Another Week

Friends and Family!

Well, first off I just want to thank all those who still read these and don't just look at the picturesšŸ˜‚ Big thanks to all y'all! Anyway, this week was pretty busy which was great! It made the week go by so fast.

☀️Highlights☀️
- We got to have MLC (Mission Leadership Conference) in person!! It was so awesome! When we said our purpose, oh man, the spirit was so strong! It was so fun!
- We had exchanges with Sister Howard and Sister Heufner! I went with Sister Heufner and actually got to stay in an apartment for a day!
- We had a super busy day on Saturday which made the day fly by.
- I'm in the process of learning how to solve a rubik's cube!

🄤Spiritual Juices🄤
So yesterday I found my new favorite scriptures. Here's what it is:
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong"

This really hit me this week because we have been struggling to find some people to teach. As a missionary you know you're supposed to be finding people to share the gospel with. But then there are these times that you kind of go through a drought and you do all you can but still come up empty. It's hard but that's why I love these verses because every hard time, every struggle, every heartache, every time you feel like you can't go any further is an opportunity to lean on the Lord. He gives us these trials to that we may be able to feel His strength carry us. I know that life is hard, but the Lord knows you and He will make you strong when you are weak! So keep you chin up and keep smiling because this is just making you into a better version of yourself! I love and miss you all! Hope you have the best week!

Toilet Plunger

Family and friends,

Hey y'all! Hope all is well where everyone is!

☀️Highlights☀️
- We went on a super hike that took a lot longer than expected...but it was really pretty!
- We got to meet a new member who moved up from Lynwood! He's awesome and we had a great lesson with him!
- We had a really good lesson with our friend Anthony about the second half of the Plan of Salvation. He always has so many questions which is awesome.
- We got to do some service!! Our district got to take some time and clean the church! It was actually pretty fun. And we also did some service for the Salvation Army!
- We had to ask for a toilet plunger because our toilet got cloggedšŸ˜‚. We won't name names.

🄤Spiritual Juices🄤
This week I was reading a talk by Elder Uchtdorf called "Of Things That Matter Most". IT IS SO GOOD!! So I encourage you to read it, because it's so good! But something that I love is this
"slow down a little, steady the course, and focus on the essentials when experiencing adverse conditions."

It's so important for us to slow down a little bit and refocus on what is most important. So much in life can distract us from what's most important so take some time this week to ask Heavenly Father what you need to eliminate from your life to put more time toward family relationships or the scriptures or serving others or things like that! I know He will help you with whatever it is!

I love you all and hope you have the best week! Feel free to send me updates about your lives!

Happy Birthday America!

Family and friends!!

Hey y'all! Happy Fourth of July! I hope everyone had a fantastic day! It was actually sunny here in Washington, so that was pretty neat! Anyway this week was a pretty good one!

☀️Highlights☀️
- We had some awesome member lessons this week and a really awesome lesson with our friend Anthony about the Plan of Salvation! He asks lots of questions which is awesome!
- We had 4 hours worth of meetings on Tuesday. They were all really good just lots of sitting on the same couchšŸ˜‚.
- We had an awesome Zone Conference on the 4th! And then we went to go get Cafe Rio, but it was CLOSED! So that was kind of a low light, not really a highlight but it's fine. We went to Panda Express instead and it took us 40 minutes to find it in a mallšŸ˜‚

🄤Spiritual Juices🄤
Yesterday I was reading in 1 Nephi 16. This is the story of the prophet Nephi breaking his bow while they are in the wilderness. So Nephi breaks his bow and then his brothers get mad at him and blame him for everything (which is not all his fault). Everyone is upset and just wallowing in self pity and complaining but not doing anything to make the situation better. But Nephi (the one whose getting blamed for everything) instead goes out makes a bow out of wood and an arrow out of a straight stick. Then in verse 23 of chapter 16, he goes to his father and says "Whither shall I go to obtain food?" This is so awesome because instead of complaining, Nephi looks around and uses the skills he has to help the situation.

This made me thing of how many times I just sit and complain about my situation. I know none of us are in the ideal situation we want to be in, but nothing is going to get better if we just complain. I am guilty of this, but looking at Nephi's example I want to instead look for what I can do with what I have around me and ask the Lord "Now what would you have me do?" If we do this, I can promise that the Lord will direct us and provide for us just as He did Nephi. So look around and see how you can fix your situation.

I love and miss you all and hope you have the best week!
