Baptism!

Family and friends!

Hey y'all! I hope everyone is doing well! It was a crazy week up here in Washington! So here's what happened:

Monday: We had a pretty chill p-day and then had fun playing volleyball for FHE! And that was pretty much it for the day.

Tuesday: We had service at the horse farm in the morning. And there were blue skies for a little bit while we were there! After that, we went to go visit a referral we had. When we went over he was home and totally wanted to learn more! We couldn't go in right then because it was just him home. So, we told him we would come back the same time next week with someone. We then had a lesson with our friend David that went pretty well! He had some really good questions that we answered to the best of our ability. He's doing really well. We are just trying to help him understand the Spirit. Tricky business, but we'll get there.

Wednesday: We had district council and it was really good. We talked a lot about faith and being patient with Gods timing. We then had a lesson with a less active member. After that, we went and helped one of our members make her birthday cake! We shared a quick message with two of her other friends as well. We then tried to go talk to some people before we went to "outreach" (we go and visit less actives with some ward members).

Thursday: We had Zone Conference! Man it was so good! I learned a lot about the importance of being obedient and being bold when talking about what we believe. That is something I'm still working on but I will get there...I hope. Then, once we finally made it through traffic, we visited some people and had a lesson with Julia who is in the Relief Society presidency. After her lesson, we had to run over to the church so we could help Octavia get a jumpsuit for her baptism! So exciting!!

Friday: We did service at Habitat for Humanity that morning. Then we were inside most of the day because of weekly planning. But when we went outside for dinner, THE SUN WAS OUT!! We were so happy we both just stood in the doorway for a while just enjoying the sun. It was great to know it's still out there;). We went and had dinner with the Millcreek sisters which is always the best! Later that night, we had a lesson with two of our members, Jake and Kiana. We talked about the tree of life and the importance of opposition in all things.

Saturday: OCTAVIA'S BAPTISM!! That morning we went and helped clean the church and then did some service at the horse farm. After that, we ran back to the church and helped Octavia get ready for her baptism! It was such a beautiful service! Sister Webster was also able to come down for it and Octavia was really happy about that. It all was just amazing! The Spirit was so strong during the whole service! Man it is just so awesome to see someone take those steps into the font to become closer to their Savior.

Sunday: I gave a talk in sacrament meeting. We had a couple lessons that night that all went super well! We had dinner with one of our members and his family and the Millcreek sisters were there too! We had a super awesome lesson about knowing your divine identity. There is so much power that comes from knowing you are a child of God. Always remember that because Satan will try to make you forget that.

Well that was the week! Throughout the week, though, I thought a lot about Lehi's vision of the tree of life and especially the importance of continually holding fast to the iron rod. We live in a time where there are so many strong winds trying to push us off the path. We can't casually move along the path with one hand on the iron rod, we have to have both hands on it at all times. We have to be actively enduring to the end and do all we can to stay on the path that leads back to the tree. This takes 100% commitment to our Savior and the covenants we have made. So I ask you to just think about how you are holding to the iron rod and ask your Heavenly Father what you can do to more fully commit yourself to Him.
